“Opinions are fantasy. They may be based on fact or not. Opinion presents personal bias and pre-conclusion. Opinions are language trading cards, we use them to gain value and hope to make them true. – People’s Dharma Circle
“The quality of your life will depend entirely upon the focus of your attention.” – Huber
A long time ago I decided that this was indeed going to be my purpose in life. It seemed to have gravity of it's own and pulled me in to action.
All our suffering.
My attraction to parts of Zen came from two areas. Gautama's position that we need to process what we hear, check it within a social context, and avoid taking it for granted as true.
The other was his approach to diminishing suffering. I am a believer in reducing suffering when we can, seeing suffering clearly for what it is, and understanding that suffering is also a tool. We suffer to indicate that we need to move into change.
I will remain dedicated to the task of seeking to understand suffering through the world's Wisdom Teachings.
