A Fragile Tao

Lately I have been noticing that life is fragile.

I think this line of thoughts is a natural evolution occurring because of the recent pandemic and a new view of how rapidly things can change. How the world as I know and experience it can simply vanish depending on circumstances.

Stability is contingent and very situational.

But, contrary to my old beliefs, I see this as an opportunity to engage my present life with everything I can offer to it, and those in it, on a continuous basis.

No longer waiting for a reason to be kind or supportive.

Taking the time to listen.

Keeping in mind that I don’t know anyone’s backstory.

Realizing I don’t have to agree, support, or like someone’s life philosophy to be kind and care about them on a personal level.

That I and other people act and speak from where they are and came from, a plant can only reflect it’s soil.

My opinion is based on what I think I know. Lately I’ve been noticing that what I actually know about anything is only a tiny percentage of the whole.

One thing that I have learned that seems vital to the experience of having joy in life. That’s living in gratitude, not for anything I have acquired or gained, but for life itself.

Take care of you and all you love,

Bryan
